Aerial Straps (Prerequisites required)

Aerial Straps class is recommended for students who have already taken other Level 1.5 classes in silks, rope, trapeze, lyra, or hammock. Basic understanding of inverting and wrist ties is required. It is not an ideal environment for someone as their first intro class, and youth students are not permitted without a private evaluation with the coach who runs the class.
Prerequisites include:
- Full Skin the cat (straight legs/ hips past arms).
- Off the floor inversion (examples: straddle up, tuck up, pike up) with ease- no kipping, swinging, or jumping to invert in hand ties.
- Should be comfortable in a pushup, plank, or handstand position (ability to hold straight arms).
- Pull-overs.
- Straddle Back from double foot-tie silks (cross back straddle) or hammock (one leg cross back straddle) or Lyra/ Bar (bar on back to back balance).
Class will include skills such as:
- Support positions (L sit/ shoulder stand/ roll up wrap)
- Meat hooks
- Hand tie positions (Nutcracker, banana, thread the needle)
- Flare pathway (2-arm) working toward 1.5 arm progressions
- C-shaping
- Fundamental swinging/ beat patterns
